Mole and skin tag removal is a focused, in-clinic procedure to remove benign skin lesions that are catching, snagging, sitting in awkward places, or that you simply prefer not to have. Treatment is delivered with local anaesthetic and is typically a single appointment per lesion, with a short healing period afterwards.
At Platinum Cosmetic Skin Clinic, mole and skin tag removal is performed by Camilla, our Dermal Therapist, at our Hawker Clinic. Moles must be cleared by your GP or a dermatologist before removal — this is a non-negotiable safety step. Skin tags do not require pre-clearance, as they are clearly benign.
Important: Mole and Skin Tag Removal is offered at our Hawker Clinic only. If you're a regular Queanbeyan client, please factor travel into your booking.
Most clients see the treated area fully healed within several weeks, with any redness fading over the following months.
What People Come In For
You have a mole, skin tag or benign lesion that:
- Catches on clothing, jewellery, or during shaving
- Sits in a visible or self-conscious place (eyelid, neckline, face)
- Has been there long enough that you'd just like it gone
- Has been checked and cleared as benign by your GP or dermatologist (for moles)
Common locations clients book for:
- Skin tags on the neck, upper chest, underarms and eyelids
- Cleared moles on the face, neck or body
- Other small benign lesions that have been confirmed as suitable for cosmetic removal
Important — Medical Clearance for Moles
All moles must be reviewed by your GP or a dermatologist before your removal appointment. We do not assess moles for skin cancer or pre-cancer risk — this is a medical assessment outside our scope of practice. Once your GP or dermatologist has confirmed a mole is benign and suitable for cosmetic removal, we are happy to proceed.
Skin tags do not require pre-clearance as they are clearly benign by appearance, but it's always sensible to mention any new, changing or unusual lesions to your GP as a matter of routine.
